(To the great people of great mountains)

Ali Hakan Guvenc was born in October 7 of 1961 in Giresun, a northern city in Turkey.

He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Ankara University. He was working as a doctor in the emergency service of Giresun State Hospital.

He had a passion for the mountains and for the mountain climbing.

He had succeeded on many climbs and summits in Turkey and all over the world.

He died on 17 August 2004 during Pobeda Peak climbing on Tien Shan Mountain.

He now rests in a bright place where the white is the whitest.

To describe him, his mountain climber friends found the best name. They called him “The angel doctor”, “Hakan the Angel”,

We are sure that great friendships were shared on those great mountains.

Our wish from the mountaineer friends of Hakan ‘the Angel’, is to write to the guest book and memories pages in this web site. .

From a poem of him:   ...My wish would be to die in the same simplicity Modest and calm like a wild flower in the field, Stars, instead of candles, shine on me, And the ground beneath me lie silent.
